چکیده
Red sprangletop (Leptochloa chinensis L.) is a problematic weed of aerobic rice (Oryza sativa that greatly reduces in yield. The laboratory studies were undertaken to confirm allelopathicity its plant leachates and soil-decomposition residues towards emergence seedling growth rice. In first experiment, aqueous extracts from various parts red (stem, root, leaves, flower entire plant) at their 5% (w/v) concentration applied germinating seeds. second soil-decomposed variable concentrations (2, 4 6% w/w) used as germination media for Among parts, leaves showed maximum allelopathic effect by fully inhibiting the while stem could be positioned situation it caused 60, 73, 84.13 86 % reductions percentage, index, length dry biomass compared with control, respectively. This treatment also resulted delays mean time (up 4.80 days) days taken 50% 4.40 highest concentrated (6%) residue significantly diminished vigor index 35.13, 23.26 41.61% lower than control. It very well may presumed liquid concentrates leave had different kind allelochemicals inhibited germination, development

Effect of three insecticides and two herbicides on rice (Oryza sativa) seedling germination and growth.
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important food crops worldwide. However, it is also a valuable tool in assessing toxicity of organic and inorganic compounds. For more than 20 years, it has been an approved species for standardized phytotoxicity experiments. The objective of this study is to determine germination and radicle (root) and coleoptile (shoot) growth of rice seeds exposed to...
متن کاملAnti-invasive activity against cancer cells of phytochemicals in red jasmine rice (Oryza sativa L.).
Red rice contains pharmacological substances including phenolics, oryzanol, tocotrienol and tocopherol. Recently, red rice extract has been employed as a source of antioxidants for inhibition of tumor growth. This study was carried out to evaluate the anti-invasion effects of red rice extract fractions on cancer cells. It was found that at 100 μg/ml of crude ethanolic extract (CEE), hexane frac...
متن کاملMapping QTLs for cold tolerance at germination and the early seedling stage in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Cold tolerance is an important breeding target in rice production. We studied quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling cold tolerance at germination (CTG) and early seedling (CTS) stages, using recombinant inbred lines derived from a japonica × indica cross. CTG was evaluated based on the percentage rate of germination at 15 °C for 12 days after pre-incubation of imbibed seeds at 20 °C for 2 ...

Seventy genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were evaluated during Kharif 2012 to study the nature and extent of correlation among yield and yield attributing characters, days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, number of effective tillers per plant, plant height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield per plant, kernel length, kernel breadth and L/B...
متن کاملMorphology and Phenology of Putative Outcrosses Between Imazethapyr-Resistant Rice and Red Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Red rice and rice belong to the same genus and species. Both are selfpollinated plants, but some outcrossing has been documented. Due to outcrossing, there are chances of resistant gene transfer from herbicide-resistant rice to red rice, which may increase the weediness of red rice. In 2000 simultaneous flowering was observed between Clearfield® CL2551 and red rice at the Rice Research and Exte...
